A research group at a Malaysian university needed a wearable platform for physiological data collection in field studies: continuous heart rate, activity and temperature, with raw-data access for their analytics pipeline. Off-the-shelf consumer devices locked the data away; clinical Holter equipment was impractical for multi-week studies.
The university approached Aiullain through our Alibaba storefront. After two technical workshops we agreed on a joint R&D scope: our hardware platform, their study protocols, and shared firmware customization.
We adapted our VitalCare sensor platform into a research edition: increased sampling rates, timestamp synchronization, and a local data-buffer mode for areas with poor connectivity. A companion data-export service streams raw PPG, acceleration and temperature series into the research team's storage.
Our engineers delivered firmware builds aligned to each study wave, and provided remote debugging throughout the data-collection period — a level of involvement consumer vendors rarely offer.
The university completed its first multi-week deployment with a device recovery rate above 95% and is planning a second, larger study wave. The collaboration continues as an ongoing research partnership, with Aiullain as the program's preferred hardware partner.
